Actaea (Cimicifuga) Pink Spike
(=Actaea simplex) Bugbanes are late-season blooming perennials, generally planted in rich moist woodland situations.

Not a very pretty name for such a pretty plant.   Actaea  'Pink Spike' is a lovely clump-forming perennial with dark, purple-black foliage and arching stems bearing racemes of fragrant, pink, bottlebrush-like flowers in late summer and early autumn. Great for attracting the butterflies.  Needs a shady spot for keeping its dark foliage. Will grow in the sun but do keep it moist.  Grows to a height of 150 cm
